DCS Freight Security

Freight Security

As part of our efforts to establish a true security culture, DCS was the first global freight forwarder with an in-house security department and one of the first to receive the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification from the US Customs and Border Protection agency. Several of our programs have achieved C-TPAT ‘Best Practice’ accreditation by US authorities.
We manage freight security through a global incident reporting room and more than 40 highly secure locations, more than the entire forwarding and logistics industry. Each of these benefits from instant communication with local and international law enforcement authorities. We also use state-of-the-art risk assessment to ensure your assets are protected.

More than 30 security experts make sure that our standards are applied, assisted by more than 300 security nominees in each of the country organizations. With Security Awareness For Employees (SAFE), DCS has established a unique internal training program.

But we still feel that more could be done. Our goal is to become the benchmark for supply chain security in the industry. DCS has participated successfully in a trial as part of the Container Security Initiative (CSI), where security devices were tested to enhance sea container security. Our proven security guidelines on sealing LCL containers were adopted as best practice by several customers.
